Charlene Tooch

Charlene “Charlie” Tooch, enthusiastically, joins the FCDE team as a Peace Corps health sector volunteer! She brings with her over two decades of experience in teaching financial and physical wellness to all walks of life. She is a licensed financial advisor, investment professional, financial literacy educator, as well as a nutrition, exercise, and sports movement specialist. For the last year, she has been working with non-government organizations in western Uganda to support HIV prevention programs for youth living positively with HIV. Her passion for children and youth led her to create anti-stigma and discrimination campaigns that are now being implemented by YAPS (Young adolescent peer supporters) in health clinics in the Bunyagabo district. Charlie has identified that learning income generating activities combined with financial literacy is critical to sustainability. However, the element paramount to any successful endeavor is FUN. Her number one priority is to create an environment that everyone LOVES to be a part of. She loves to cook, travel, and explore the outdoors. Her greatest achievement is her twenty-year-old son, Reese, who is a dog trainer and groomer back in their home state of Florida, USA.
